During this presentation, we talked about The human respiratory system. We talked about its parts and asked the children to know their previous knowledge about the topic. Then, we talked about the cells in our bodies and how important oxygen is to staying alive. Some third graders explained to second and first graders how Carbon dioxide is made in our bodies as cells do their jobs and how the lungs and respiratory system allow oxygen in the air to be taken into the body, while also letting the body get rid of carbon dioxide in the air breathed out.
After, the children started to work on making their own Respiratory System model using some recycled materials, balloons, some card, and paper to write the parts they have just learned.
