After learning about the first river civilizations, it was time for the children to learn how the rivers were formed, the richness they gave to the land around them and, exactly, why the rivers were the best place for the first civilizations to begin.
All the parts of the river are given their names, source, banks, mouth, delta, deficit and the final destination, the sea.
The labels are placed on the model and water is poured at the top of the model so the children can see for themselves how the watwer makes its way down towards the sea.
