It´s no secret that children love animals. In Gladis´s class, some children are discovering even more about animals. The children first choose a category. They can choose to answer questions about the diet of each animal, how it reproduces, how it moves, how useful it is to the human being, or what climate zone it lives in. Children begin by classifying the animal picture cards. As they become familiar with the animals, they begin to construct sentences about each animal. As more sentences are constructed, they can later be grouped together to form paragraphs. Perfection and aquisition of vocabulary is achieved by practicing dictionary skills and through repetition.
