Poetry Writing – HAIKU

Poetry is for all ages!  One of the objectives of this year is to integrate our English lessons with different types of poetry writing, not just memorizing.  We want the children to participate in this literary art form.  The students  have already begun to practice new ways of expressing themselves with Japanese Haiku poems. These poems are described as the expression of thoughts or feelings, using the least amount of words, in only 3 lines!  There is a secret though….. the lines must have a 5-7-5 syllable sequence…. the grade 4,5,6 students have really done a great job!
