Physical Education is very important in the Children’s House, with daily sessions and a programme specially designed to improve fitness and develop vital core skills – all conducted entirely in English!
The programme incorporates cardiovascular exercise to build endurance, speed, and stamina (jogging, long- and short-distance running, and racing games); activities to enhance coordination, reflexes, and motor skills (ball skills, balancing games, and obstacle courses); and activities that develop agility, body awareness, and expression (dancing, gymnastics, yoga, and “animal walks”).
We also provide an excellent cultural opportunity for children to learn and enjoy traditional English playground games (What’s the Time, Mr Wolf?, Duck Duck Goose, Egg and Spoon Races, Mr Crocodile, Can We Cross the River?), as well as songs (Ring-a-Ring-a-Roses, The Hokey Cokey). These activities also help reinforce new language concepts in a fun and interactive way – for example, using hula hoop games to practise colours, Simon Says for reflexes and actions, or Popcorn for numbers and body parts.
Language is woven into our engaging daily sessions, which also offer a valuable opportunity for young children to enhance social skills such as teamwork, decision-making, following rules, and turn-taking.
In short, our daily PE sessions bring out the child in everyone (including the adults!) – so get ready to move, play, and discover, because at the Children’s House, physical exercise, fun, and learning go hand in hand.
Are you ready? On your marks, get set… GO!
