In English class we have been learning about present (-ing) and past (-ed/3rd column) participles, and to practice them our students have participated in a cooperative activity designed to train their ability to shorten sentences using the participles.
It consists in giving out a set of cards with sentences that have to be rewritten using the participles without changing the original meaning of the sentences. The students have to race in pairs around the class exchanging cards so they can reach the maximum number of 14 sentences. The first pair to rewrite correctly the 14 sentences wins a very sweet prize.
