Learning about the months of the year is a great activity that you can relate to many real topics that kids get excited about. Instead of just memorizing January, February, March, etc. It´s important to make real life connections to them, to remember in a more meaningful way. For this we have talked about the birthdays of each student in the class. The kids are excited to share their own and also equally excited to know their classmates´. You can also bring in vocabulary of the seasons and festivities associated with different months to expand on this topic. Learning this way helps the students recognize and know the months of the year outside of just the order of the calendar. Also, remembering birthdays is always good knowledge to have!
