Maypole dancing is celebrated in many parts of Europe. It marks the beginning of spring and warm weather.
In the class, we make a maypole with a bucket, a wooden pole and different coloured ribbons.
The dance consists of children from EI3, EI4, EI5 each one holding a coloured ribbon and dancing in and out plaiting the ribbons as they go.
At the end of the dance, the children love to see the plait they have made.
