Building Reading Fluency

Students in first, second, and third grades build reading fluency by working on initial sounds and phonetics.  They build their reading skills by later working on phonograms and by practicing reading longer words and phrases.  Older students from the sister class often come to mentor the younger students by practicing with them or reading to them.  Reading together helps build a sense of community as motivation and interest in reading continues to grow.
