Building Strength, Coordination and Confidence Through Play
In our Physical Education sessions, the children have been exploring movement in a fun and exciting way through animal walks. By pretending to move like different animals — such as bears, frogs, crabs or snakes — children turn exercise into play while developing essential physical skills.
Animal walks are much more than a fun game. When children crawl like a bear, jump like a frog or move like a crab, they are strengthening their muscles, improving their balance and coordination, and developing their core stability. These movements help build gross motor skills and body awareness.
For children aged 3, 4 and 5, movement plays a key role in both physical and brain development. Activities that involve using both sides of the body together help create strong neural connections that support future skills such as writing and reading. At the same time, children learn to move safely in space, follow instructions, take turns and cooperate with others.
Through animal walks, children are not just playin they are growing stronger, more coordinated and more confident every day.
