Learning a language with image support is beneficial and a great way of improving a language as the child has a visual support which is much more interactive than only the verbal part. Making them relate what they are listening to images allows them understand better what we are teaching them. In Montessori we use bits to show them different topics like weather (as you can see in the image), animals , seasons, etc. With the image support they can also relate other topics about the subject we are exposing, by commenting different aspects of the picture, and by that, making their vocabulary richer.
With pictures we don’t just make them look at them, but think about them and make a reflection on them.
