Last week we learned about “the day”. Time is mesasured with respect to the Sun´s apparent motion in teh sky. But of course, we know that the sun is not moving and the motion of the Sun is caused by the rotation of the Earth. The word “day” means a whole rotation of the Earth.
We also had a look on the hottest and coldest part of the day. We found out that the hottest part of the day is after the longest period of heating andthat the coldest part of the day is just before dawn, after the longest period of cooling.
