The 2nd of May, after our midterm exams, we started working on oral presentations in groups of 2 or 3 people. The group members were chosen by our teachers Arthur and Chris. Each group had 3 class sessions to prepare their presentation. The project has to be about a humanities topic, and some of the chosen topics are “Human Rights”, “Greek Mythology”, “Vikings in America” and “The twin towers terrorist attack”.
But also lots of groups have chosen places like “Easter Island”, “Malaysia” or “The Bahamas” and will explain some fast facts, their history and traditions. We just started presenting our projects on the 13th of May.
Before Easter break we also did oral presentations, which were about “sustainable cities,” and we were helped by the Swedish students who came here for the EMMEX project. Sustainable cities and communities is one of the UN’s SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
I personally think that this activity is interesting because we work in teams, so we have to help each other. We are put in a group with people we don’t normally work with so I think it’s also very productive in a social way.
