Students from 456B and 123F took their bird, Hulk, to the veterinarian. The students studied procedures for transporting animals on public transportation. They observed and documented information about their animal and made a list of questions for the veterinarian who was a specialist in exotic animals. The children were able to learn many things about their animal such as its socialization, dietary needs, and physical changes according to age. They also learned about ways to help the bird achieve more exercise. The students learned about healthy bird behavior and how to observe signs of illness. All in all, it was a wonderful experience for both the students and for Hulk.
